No, definitely not. I'll be 56 this year and my life is significantly better now than it has ever been. I've had some serious hardships and heartbreaks over the years, but overall things are excellent :D

I no longer have financial worries, my health (and that of my family, as well) is good, I have been blessed with great friendships, music is a significant part of my life, I get to see grandchildren and great-nieces/newphews growing up ..... if I was to check out today I would have no regrets .....

Does aging make you Sad ?

Supposedly, at age 44, I am nearing The Age Of The Crone.

Well...I don't wanna be a freakin' Crone, thank you!!!

Aging doesn't so much make me sad as it pi$$es me off. The grey hair is ok...that I can handle. I have this cool "Josie & The Pussycats" white streak going, and that kinda rocks.

And knowing what you know when you're older is cool. Until you begin to forget it. :rollno:

However...

Things hurt that shouldn't. Wrinkles and having a hard time keeping weight off *sucks*. Being more tired *sucks*. Having to eat differently *sucks*. Having to make sure you pee'd thoroughly before you can sneeze *really, really sucks*.

Mick Jagger was right...its a drag.

But I soldier on, because there's really nothing else I can do. I can't get younger, and if I don't age, then I die.

So...aging is better than death.

Good one. :)

LOL!

The first time it happened to me, I was so *mad*! "Oh, god%a&&it!!! Mudder-ruttin'...oh GAWD!!!"

My mother thinks that when I lose my teeth and have to wear a diaper and get all feeble and have to be in a nursing home where they won't let me listen to or play my music, I will become one of those crazy old women who rant and throw stuff. She thinks I am going to be really, really pi$$ed off by the time I'm 70 or 80.

Cool. I plan on throwing stuff.

Cherie at 80: "Turn off that gorram retro-emo-pop crap and play some Sabbath, you danm kids! Do it, now, or you'll get a full bedpan in the face, you little pukes!"

No More Mrs. Nice Granny!

I voted yes, but only at times. Since I recently lost my dad, I think about it a lot now. Things like how it was when I was a kid playing with him, and as a young man thinking how he didn't know anything about the world, and now just wanting another few minutes with the man. I am getting teared up about it.

I fixed it for you. :-)

ROTFLMAO!!!

But...won't those pri$$y kids have taken my license away by then?

"Elderly woman smashes through barroom door...

Drinking came to a halt at Larry's Lone Star Ice House today when an elderly female bassist smashed through their door in her pickup truck...

"I was just trying to make my gig! Get your hands off me, you pri$$y kid, I can walk! Don't touch my bass, you little bastages!!! Someone get me a freakin' beer!!! I'm old, and I'm thirsty!"

More on News at 11.

It's not the age that counts - life gets richer all the time, but I'm with Txbasschik - the physical effects suck!

At the moment I love swimming, ice skating, playing tennis, skiing - all will become limited with age though I've every intention of carrying on as long asw I can - we have to enjoy good health while we can - no matter what age we are.....

I just had a daughter and I'm 37. Thinking about how old I will be as she grows up gives me pause...

I think of that a lot and have different perspectives about it. At 40, I feel I'm living a great moment in my life since I've gathered lots of valuable experiences that make me feel wiser. On the other hand, I often remember when I turned 20 and thought of all the time I had ahead of me. Now I look back to that day and that feeling of how fast the time has passed and how life quickly slips off like sand through my hands makes me feel sad. Like watching this video, for instance. None of you know about it, so let me tell you: It is the head of a very popular and long running TV show from my country. That particular video was originally bradcasted in January, 1985 (I was about to quit being underage). That guy (Jimmy), who was an accomplished pianist, arranger and band leader, succumbed to a diabetic coma in 1993 and that was the end of the show. I grew up watching his show and looking at this now (found it last week) brings so many fond memories that make me feel really nostalgic about those young, naive days.

not in the way that you think. me getting old, no. my friends who are in their 50's and are starting to slow down, i have a real problem with that. i just dont want to lose anyone else. my dad turns 80 this year.............

being just about twenty seven and not at all established in the world ( financially and otherwise) is a bit saddening. Watching all my friends get engaged and married is weird too. I'm not sure any of the good ones will be left for me. Knowing that I'll be nearly thirty before I finish grad school, that really sucks.

On the plus side, with age comes alot of wisdom ( as much as you can have at 26) and the ability to view things more as they are and less as you would like them to be, increased confidence in oneself, and most importantly, the ability to laugh at myself.
