Does anyone care about strap color?

image.jpeg
I like this vintage style red one.

It matters and I do try to match my straps to the bass. My Carvin basses all have a padded Carvin branded black strap. My fretless sunburst basses both have brown straps. My red Peavey Verdine White has a red leather strap. I have some older straps that get used for my lesser used instruments.

I have 4 straps.. One is a tan soft leather strap that stays with my ABG. All the other 3 all have straplocks on them and one is a black leather padded Levy's with black straplocks.. the other is a grey padded Mono with silver straplocks and the other is a wide brown leather strap with gold straplocks on it.. no padding though.... this one is 40 years old and it is the thick leather like they used to make... I got it with my first bass and it is still in great shape.

Makes me wonder if cord color should match too! :D
My black '78 MusicMaster recently got a makeover, with black pearl pickguard and all chrome hardware, including thumbrest, pickup cover, and knobs.

It has a black strap with a metallic silver embroidered pattern, and a black and silver cord.

My MTD Kingston is blue with a white pickguard.

The strap is white, and the cord is blue.

So yes, I care about strap color and cord color.

So long as the strap is fairly wide I'm not too bothered what it is. Currently I'm using a really fat red Fender one- I bought it after I found playing a gig with a T-bird kills (then I switched to my Jazz live, because I'm smart). I really love some of the Couch or Souldier ones though- I might look a little out-of-place in my band, but then my whole rig does anyway, so who cares?
