Does Anyone Else Do This?

learning four finger tapping has been very valuable to me. you can tap out chords or arpeggios with ease this way. I use my index and third finger on my left hand to tap the root and highest note. Then, I use my index and middle finger on my right and to tap the notes in between.

I just reread this and something clicked.

Did you mean that you hammer the note with the thumb of your fretting hand? If so, that's not 2 handed tapping and I would imagine the uses of such a technique to be quite limited.

Its generally considered poor technique to fret with the thumb. Then again, I've seen many examples, usually by guitarists, that counter the consensus. If its working for you and not causing discomfort, keep at it I say!
