Does anyone else think the Grammy's are a joke?

I don't watch RE-ward shows! If there happens to be a performance worth seeing, I'll just catch is later. That's what YouTube is for.
All this hate and no one has chimed in to point out that Justin Bieber has sold X amount of records more than Bob Dylan - therefore making him (like all pop stars) a better musician. C'mon people. Where's the fanboyism?
Yep. "The Simpsons" have made fun of the Grammies for years (mainly for The Simpsons winning a Grammy).

The Grammys are the musical equivalent of mashing a bunch of Cheetos and Big Macs and Taco Bell burritos into your face because it all "tastes so good." If Robin Thicke pops into your mind as one of the best things you heard last year, then something is really wrong. Useless garbage for lazy minds.
The Grammys aren't usually my first choice in entertainment, but they are better than listening to the inevitable crowd of people afterward who think they're above the "ignorant masses", or who think their choice in music is inherently better than someone else's.
why do you think he doesn't actually think they're good?
I saw him on the Graham Norton show with Katy Perry and he told her he thought Roar was a fantastic song. He didn't need to say that.
Lets face it, Mccartney was always the lamest of the Beatles and was certainly the "poppiest" of them all and he didn't get better with age.
ALL Awards shows are a joke! They are select groups voting for themselves, patting themselves on their backs, giving awards to the people whose careers need a boost or whose management has lobbied the hardest. They are just meaningless as often commented on The Simpsons and elsewhere -

There was a great cartoon a week or so ago commenting on ALL the awards shows. The recipient was at the podium exclaiming - "I like me! I really like me!".

The "poppiest?!?" You mean the guy who wrote Helter Skelter, Honey Pie and Obla-Di-Obla-Da about a cross dresser? Pop music had nothing like Eleanor Rigby until Paul made it possible.

I wouldn't consider Paul McCartney's vocals on I'm Down and She's A Woman to be pop. I wouldn't mind being able to sing like that.

Pop is ok. Bad pop sucks. The Grammys don't make any distinction, so I was in the basement making noise instead of paying attention.
chk out his bass line in a song called "the word" from rubber soul.... pop oriented or not... paul's a great bass player.. and he wrote and sang oh darling and a bunch of other great stuff.. and judging the beatles just seems wrong.. and how did this grammy thread drift towards dissing paul anyway??
