Yes the Grammies are meaningless and pointless- disorganized, meandering and pathetic, and cater to the uber- liberal agenda. Kinda like rolling stone magazine. And I just saw the "highlights" on the news. What a joke and total waste of time.

Maybe so, but look up the number of artists who have been consistently making hits for 50 years.

"Consistently"? I'd be very hard pressed to say that he has "consistently" made hits in the past 30 years.
Nonetheless, I imagine that he has produced more and bigger hits collectively as a writer and performer than anyone else in history.

I'm more of a Hendrix fan by far than a Beatles fan. It doesn't seem to bother me so much when he is criticized. But maybe that's because some of the criticism of the Beatles seems to get pretty carried away, sometimes reaches a certain absurdity, often based on incomplete info and a tendency to judge based on contemporary rather than historical context.
I think a lot of the criticism of the Beatles is also spurred on by the fact that so many of their fans are almost religious in their worship of everything the band and it's members ever did.
I have nothing against the Beatles, but when people reach a certain level of fanboi-ism I just can't help myself; I just have to poke a little fun at them.
Last 30 years? 1984-2014?
In the 80's, he had a hit song in 8 out of 10 years.
In the 90's, he had a hit song in 4 out of 10 years.
In the 2000's, he had a hit song in 6 out of 10 years.
In the 2010's, he's had a hit song in 4 out of 4 years.
That would seem fairly consistent, especially considering how many people have claimed he was irrelevant since about 1970 or so.

They acheived more than any band in history, and you have acheived nothing by poking fun at that.

If money and success make a person better than other people, and assuming the more money and more success one achieves, the relatively better they become, then does that mean Bill Gates is God?
