The need to define them as anything other than American is, in itself, a racist remark. The fact that it's tolerated just shows how far society has to go before racism is truly a thing of the past.

Last I looked Mexico is a country. If its anything which it doesn't sound like it is, it would be jingoism or xenophobia. & it doesn't sound like it!

Mentioning nationality or race can be sensitive or cause sensitivity. One cure is to speak freely. If it sparks too much don't do it. When it inspires healthy dialogue we heal.

Latest figures show that most of the immigrants into the US have college degrees. Defies the stereotype huh? :)

For those of you missing the point...the above comment refers to the labor used in the custom shop as an imported commodity. THAT is what's offensive about this. Nobody's denying they're skilled...but it's the labeling of them as an IMPORTED COMMODITY that's racist.

Completely missing the point.... he pointed out a truth showing irony about distinction between Mexican and USA made fenders, effectively being the opposite of racist. You are the one who is reading something racist into it....

There are different ethnicities in the world... don't pretend that there aren't, just vive la difference!

Acknowledging that someone has ancestry isn't being racist.
