Does anyone have ONE BASS thats their favorite?

depends on what I'm doing / where my head is at... For the last few years, my fav has been my lakland 4-94... With the work I'm doing now, my fav is my Zon sonus 5, and I haven't picked up the Lakland in months...

My favorite would be my vm squier jazz bass. I have a mim J bass played some American ones but nothing sounds as good as that bass. Though i do have dimarzio ultra jazz pickups in it.

I absolutely love my G&L SB-2 and JB, but when I pick up my 2003 Am. Ser. Jazz, it feels like home. I bought it new in 2003, and have owned it longer than any other. It has noiseless Fralins and a drop-tuner. Shown with my favorite guitar:

No. In 20 years of playing I have never found one perfect do-it-all bass.

My current favourite and the only bass I've ever bought that I knew I would never sell is my '91 Thumb, but it's not perfect, I love the sounds but it's a little bit neck-divey.

I've thought about building a 5-string 24-fret Jazz, active and passive, but I often think it would end up being my idea of ugly or just plain characterless, and it would collect dust while I continued to gig my Warwick.

Have someone with a carving duplicator make a replica body from the same type of wood but with a longer horn... problem solved

It might just about solve one problem, but it would look weird given the short body due to the 26-fret neck.

Have someone extend the bottom horn too?

Haha look at Ibanez BTB's... short body with a long upper horn. You could do whatever you please. I've heard amazing things about Warwick Thumbs except for the stupid horn. Fix that and you're set!

What would you call it? The Warwick Finger?

At the moment , my fave is my Squier Vintage Modified Precision:

I'll be after one of those Squier VM P's as soon as I get the money. I've got the J and it is superb - and I think the idea of having matching natural, black PG, Duncan-designed PU, maple-necked P and J would be awesome!

I have that SAME bass, SAME color! It's defintiely one of my favorites. It and my Squier Standard Precision V are my two favorites. Love the Squier
