Plus I think rounds just sound better live.
there is an unsually high amount of flatwound users on talkbass. But the biggest percentage of bass players, like myself use rounds. I dont like flats flat sound nor there feel.

Flatwound players are like a religious group that is very vocal about their beliefs and they are always trying to convert roundwound users to their group.
They should have tent meetings and give testimonials:
"I used to use rounds and then I saw the light and I have reformed my ways and I use flatwound strings."
Well I started on flats back in the 60s and I was thrilled when rounds came along.
Most basses in this world are strung with roundwound strings. The reason why Jamerson and others from that era used flats was that was all they could get at the music store.

No. The only possibly correct statement above is the part where you were thrilled when rounds came along. And frankly, unless you are over 93 (or over 70 if you are talking about truly modern bass guitar), that isn't true, either. Rounds were first, Jamerson used flats due to the sound and durability.
Rounds were first? I thought rotosound invented them? Hence the name. I wasn't there... I'm only 44, so I have always played in the age when all I ever knew was rounds aside from on old basses. But I thought roto invented them, at least on bass.
PS... Just asking/confirming, not preaching.![]()
