I tried a couple of Corvette fretless models. Neither one exhibited any neck dive. Which is the absolute last thing you ever want to have on a fretless bass. Nice basses. Had one if the nicest fretless necks I ever played. Zeroing in on exact intonation was almost automatic on them. Still eish I bought one. Kinda clean sounding for my tastes. But a little EQ and some additional coloration from a compressor or a warm drive pedal would have fixed that right up I’d guess.
Tried a used Thumb in GC. Heavy as sin. And it hung weird. The earlier comment about it having an odd center of gravity best describes my own experience with it. And I didn’t much care for the sterile (to my ears) tone it had. But that one didn’t neck dive either.
