does anyone make an 8lb precision bass?

My 98 US Fender P Bass is around 8.4-8.5 lb. I also second trying to find a US Peavey Fury, those are pretty light and very playable. As I don't have the Fury now to weigh it, it feels a little lighter than the US Fender i currently have so maybe 8lb or a little less.
Trust me, I'd know if a bass weighed 9lb or upwards as I have a bum shoulder with a built in 9lb weight detect sensor.

I agree that a Fender Precision eight pounds or lighter is pretty unusual.
My 2009 Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass is 8.5 lbs. and I consider it to be on the light side.

Any manufacturer who has chambered bodies should get you there. I have a chambered 5 string jazz fretless that weighs in around 6.5 Lbs.
Some of the new Yamaha BB’s come in under 9lbs. My BB234 was close at 8lbs 14oz, but I’ve seen them (and the 434’s) closer to the 8lb mark as well. Granted, they are technically P/J’s.
My Fender Vintera in ash is 3.7kg aka 8.15 pounds and won't brake the bank.why are they all 9.5lbs?
By the way, it doesn't dive either. It does his job.
My Player Precision is 8lbs 6ozs. A far cry from 9.5 lbs but not quite 8lbs.
If weight is important, buying from Sweetwater has real advantages. They weigh each instrument and take actual pictures of that instrument. That's where I got mine.
BTW, mine balances just fine. No Neck dive at all.

My Regenerate Guitar Works P's are around 8lb, and my G&L LB100 isn't far off. Very light and comfortable to play all night.
not so sure about the basswood. I haven't heard a basswood bass I liked....
I have two Fender P Basses sub 8.5lbs
The first one is an ash body 57 reissue. It still has the original heavy tuners on it so it currently sports a brass hipshot bridge so it doesn’t neck dive. Because of the heavy hardware it definitely ticks closer to 8.5.
I have an alder body Fender Custom Shop bass that’s under 8lbs. Swapped out the bridge for an aluminum hipshot and the tuners for gotoh resolites to keep it balanced.
