Does Anyone on the Planet Play a Maple Fingerboard Jazz?

I got a new one of these about an hour ago. I certainly feel it looks wrong and am not a fan of maple fingerboards on anything except SCPBs (where they belong), but at the insane discount I couldn't refuse:

It's a nice enough bass, but of the zillions of name-act bassists playing Jazz Basses, I can't think of a single time I've seen one of these anywhere but a music store.

I must be missing something, right?

My Fender jazz has a replacement maple neck with black hardware, and I love the looks and sound of it. I don't really see straight-up maple neck Fenders out there that often (aside from Geddy's and Marcus Miller's, which have the bound and blocked necks), but maybe that's because Fender doesn't offer maple necks on MIM basses?

Bro, are you serious ? What about the marcus millers, the geddy lees, etc etc... ok some of those jazz basses have the prettiest block inlays, but there are lots of regular maple fretboard jazzes out there...

Uh thats my dream bass right there.

Sunburst 08 jazz with maple fretboard and sunburst finish.

I'll trade you my S-1 P bass with Seymour Duncan Spb-3 and a rosewood fretboard

Sure, the Millers and the GLs, but those are import specialty "artist" basses.

Regular American Jazz basses w/maple fingerboards are really uncommon in name-act hands. It's gotta be 99-1 rosewood. I'm just wondering about a couple of notable exceptions...if there even are any.

I just looked through a Bass Player and there were various pictures of twenty or so pros with Jazzes and not one was maple. Hmmm...

I sold a 2000 maple / ash Jazz to somebody on the board.
He's got a name, and an act.
I still have a '72 black block Jazz neck on a P body, and a couple of Joe Osborn Jazz basses with maple necks.

I only play maple fretboard guitars and basses. Acoustics are the only time where I will play an ebony/rosewood.

Maple sounds much clearer and feels better to me.

I think it looks sexy on a natural colored instrument. I think its out of place on a sunburst finish though...

Slap, is that the neck the bass came with or did you replace it?

I've never seen a block pearloid inlay on standard Jazz model.
