Does Anyone on the Planet Play a Maple Fingerboard Jazz?

I think its out of place on a sunburst finish though...
The dark "aged" color looks fine on my '54/Sting, but for some reason, FMIC won't part with the extra five cents worth of toner to darken up a maple neck on an American bass short of the Custom Shop, it seems. :hmm:

I'm sure the overwhelming preference for rosewood on the Jazz is a combination of Leo-era tradition and tone; the Jazz is plenty bright enough without any more snap.
