Does anyone use caffeine pills on gigs?

Community Coffee. But I cheat, I have a Kureg. I order it on Amazon and it's reasonably cheap...$20 for 36 pods.

I'm pretty sure they're from BR, I think I read that on their website...I do know they're a Louisiana company.

Yeah, I think their roasters are in Baton Rouge, but their corporate office is definitely there. They also have a local chain of coffee shops too, CC's Coffee House. Their coffee is good, we buy it pretty regularly.

There are a few roasters in New Orleans too. I would say Community is the largest independent coffee company in the area. There are a few Folgers and Maxwell House processing plants around with some smaller companies too, French Press, Cafe Du Monde, and a few more I can't think of off the top of my head.

i've tried various, non-coffee caffeine-based concoctions over the years, infrequently, but i found that my system really responded to the chocolate-covered roasted coffee beans --- a little goes a long way for me! i used them effectively on those long-haul days with multiple gigs --- might be worth trying. they were in my system fast, faster, fastest........hang on... :D
yup!
a small handful of those works wonders for me. Mostly it's about clearing my head, not so much being physically tired.
Chocolate covered espresso beans are great and easy and tasty!

LOL! Reminds me of a gig I had many years ago running sound for a cover band on the New England club circuit. They had booked a week long engagement at some hideous restaurant/disco that was a 2.5 hour drive from my home, four sets a night, so I was driving or mixing from about 3:00PM until 5:30AM all week long...while attending grad school during the days :) So no sleep for Bobby.

Every afternoon I would pick up a six-pack of Jolt Cola and a 1lb bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and I'd spend the nights just totally wired on caffeine and sugar!

It was a blessing when I left that gig.

nope. i drink one cup in the morning and that's it, period. i was a bit tired and had a red bull before a gig once and i played poorly and felt bad and jittery. for me, if i get caffeinated before a gig i'm going to play poorly, rush tempos, and feel jittery. i play sober, and caffeine is a drug that--for me at least--negatively affects my playing if i've had just a bit too much.
