Only in the very broadest sense of how we as a Western technological civilization deal with indigenous cultures; we basically supplant them. . . .
Is this really the best storyline James Cameron could come up with? Do we really need a movie plot that warns Western civilization that it's wrong to slaughter the aboriginals and dump garbage everywhere? What century is this?
I actually did enjoy this movie and thought it was great fun - but only because I didn't take the plot seriously. Unfortunately, James won't be happy with the fact that a lot of people are poo-pooing his socially conscious message. I think he should stick to making cool movies and leave the deep philosophical issues to those better equipped for it. IMO.
