Does class D have the Heft of SS

Thanks for taking the time for the explanation Andy.
While well over my head, it looks as though modern marketing campaigns use a high damping factor numbers without taking any of the negatives into consideration. I suppose one could also question their accuracy considering the variable impedance vs. frequency for both the amplifier and speakers.

Good luck with your patent projects.

You're really working on a flying car for Mesa, admit it.

Paul Moller was one of my neighbors where my old shop was located. Talking about thinking outside the box... though in fairness many ofthe modern drones are based on concepts that he pioneered. He was a professor of mechanical engineering at UC Davis (where I earned my degree).

Thanks! I see they no longer offer the Black Jac 2000. Oh well... I'm leaning towards the Tech21 DUG 1000.

A friend of mine brought his Black Jag to a get-together at luthier's shop I used to work with. It's a nice amp but he spent quite a while trying to get it to sound as good as my Kustom KXB500 sounded flat. That was an eye-opener for both of us. Maybe good, clean sound wasn't its forte'.

Having spoken with Glenn Kawamoto of TecAmp about the Black Jag, he said the Black Jag is more about warm tubey tone via tube emulation and not necessarily about clean and transparent. Although it can do clean as well. Since I’m more about clean and transparent I use a TecAmp Puma 900 and always have it set flat with excellent results.

Since the Tech 21 DUG head is FiveStringer1’s alternative to the Black Jag and it has a distortion channel, I would presume he’s going for a grittier tone.
