Do you own an ugly bass?
Well, I don't think they're ugly, but you and others might.
Why would you care what somebody else thinks? It's only what we think that matters.
I personally don't care what others might think of my taste in basses. I'm just curious to know if it offends anyone else is all.
I think I get more annoyed when the uneducated attempt to ctitique an instrument they are not familiar with.

Actually, I think white pearloid (aka mother of toilet seat) is ugly as hell...but I like it for some reason. I have two basses with white pearloid pickguards. If some said it was ugly, I'd have to agree. They're tacky as @@@@!
No, not really. I will sometimes get my feelings hurt if it comes from my wife or a band member (they should know better). I couldn't care less if Joe Schmo like my bass.
Nope, I realize that the whole fancy unpainted wood look isn't for everyone, but it's pie in my plate.

It's never happened to me. I don't think I've ever owned an ugly bass. Some have been better-looking than others, but I really can't remember an ugly one...

I rescently brought my new Laguna LB-224 over to a guit**d / drum playing friends house. He said he didn't like it 'cause it sounds too "burpy" to him. "Why so much mids?", he says.
He changed his mind after we did our version of Victim of Changes by Priest. It's one of our old school favs!
