Does it offend you when?

I cannot believe that someone would do such a tasteless thing. After pondering the question, I would probably reply and/or think to say one or more of these:

1. I did not buy it to please you.
2. Don't you find it rather shallow to criticize what other people like?
3. Why don't you pull your lower lip over your head and swallow yourself and disappear?:p
4. What do you play? See, I didn't make fun of your bass (or whatever instrument).
5. Well then, don't buy one.
6. Although looks are important, it's the sound that counts.

I do realize that people have different tastes in basses as with anything else. If someone does not like what I like, then that's okay too. But to openly walk up and critcize someone on a posting and bash it? Nope. A definite lack of class. :scowl:

On the other hand, if someone doesn't like something, then agree to disagree agreeably. Say something like "they are not my cup of tea" or "I prefer other things". If someone gets upset about that, then that is silly as well.

All in all, be respectful of others. As my late father stated to his highly opinionated son: "Think about what you are going to say before you say it". :eyebrow:

Nope. I only get annoyed by two statements ever.

1.Every bass player should own a Fender.

2. Every bass player should have at least one 4 string.

Anything else is water under the bridge for me.

+1

What also offends me is closed minded gear snobs that make snap judgements about basses they have never played based simply on second or third hand information, or by what is printed on the headstock....

If someone wants to actually come up and tell me they think my bass is ugly, it makes me so happy because it means they're going to buy me one they think is cool looking and sounds better... right?

Right?

If not, then I care about their opinion about as much as I care about an unknown baboon farting somewhere on the African savannah.
