It's okay for the price. I have four of them to store some of my basses. I don't gig but, I wouldn't gig with them. But only because I have other options. Namely an SKB case and a Levy's gig bag.

The interior is not molded, as it's a general purpose case. That said, it fits my SX 6-string Jazz as well as a MIM Fender Jazz pretty snug.

But it looks like from the photos that Old Joe's case is one of the hardwood bass cases.

Yes I was looking for something between a gig bag and a hard shell case. Something that will be lite but will help keep the bass in tuned better when my grandson is Helping

I have one that is similar to Rondo's molded foam version. It is made by HSS Bags, the model is 905G. This was a gift from last Christmas.

It's nicely finished, but I'm normally a gig bag guy for storing. If it were about protecting the instrument for transit, I don't know that I would go anywhere but hardshell (wood, ABS, etc.) in that circumstance.

Yep I was afraid of that, however you got me thinking about getting one or two hard shell cases for just carrying them to the gig and let them set in their gig bags around the house. Thanks for that!

Well after playing this bass for 5 months I did my first mod on it. After first learning the layout of the preamp and fiddling with it constantly trying to find a sound I liked and never really being happy with it, it had to go. I didn't have the cash for a new pre so I just bought new pots and a toggle switch and went passive. Since it had a jazz and a MM pickup I used these. CTS 250K pots that come with a tone capacitor. Since the body had five holes in it I decided to wire it with two vols. two tones and pup selector switch. Total cost $33.99

Unfortunately the shafts on the pots were too short to get the nuts on them.

Finished. I replaced the cheap silver knobs with black speed knobs and think they look a lot better.

Great job! Very cool--the active eq on these cheapies is often very bad. I bet it sounds better.

Thank you! I am an aspiring guitar tech/luthier/repairman. Worked on my own basses for years. In Jan., at the age of 53, I finally started "apprenticing" at a shop near me in Walnut Creek, CA. By that I mean the owner, Shawn, let's me come in whenever I want, and if he has something for me to do, repairs, setups, whatever, he'll watch me and give me pointers until we are both sure I wont get into any trouble. LOL.

A few of you expressed interest in nabbing one of these 6'ers if they became available.
Well, the bass (which can be seen and heard in post #141 - 8 years ago!) returned from a gig last year with a hairline fracture in the neck.
I have a few pictures of the crack. It holds tune just fine, but I don't trust it.
It's free to whoever wants to pay shipping.

I really hope it's just a superficial crack that requires only minor repair.
It's a cool bass. Hopefully it has lots of life left in it.
