Does Not Compute: $139 SX Mahogany 6 String with Set Neck

If anyone is interested to hear what the new SX 6'er sounds like live, my oldest son used it on stage last night. My 13 year old is on drums and his classmate friend plays some killer lead.
I give my little drummer (Nick) a lot of credit, he broke his other crash cymbal during the previous song, and had to resort to a tiny splash for NIB...

Sweet! Those kids rock! I love the "I have a fever" comments too. LOL.

I've had mine out on a few more gigs too, and I'm taking it to L.A. next week for our annual Thanksgiving jam.

MORE COWBELL!

Wow, they really rock! And the bass sounds good.

I'm glad no one had camcorders when I was playing in my first band when I was about that age in the '70s. We weren't good.

The SX stuff is pretty damn happening for the price...i just picked up a p bass copy ....flawless except for the nut ....and i changed the pups just cause i don't use cheap pups as a rule ...but to be honest i never even critiqued em....they might a been fine!

My six string arrived today. I was surprised by the quality of this bass for the money. Her name is Violet. She plays pretty well and looks new and sparkly. I only found one little nick between the nut and the E tuner. Not a big deal. I was shocked that it came with two truss rods and a gig bag. It needs some strings and a set up. From there I can dictate if the electronics need a little upgrade. I know, I know, no pics no bass:

I was trying to capture the nice grain of the body and neck:

I am also going to use this post for a NBD thread. I don't mean to repeat myself but, this bass is great for the money and I want it to reach a broad audience.

Sweet!

I got mine yesterday, I know, no pics no bass. I'll post some later in the week. Started to do a setup on it and found a small nick on the finish where the neck meets the body and the bridge pickup was loose. Nothing big. The action is fine and the fretwork nicely done. Loving the bridge, beefy yet elegant and smooth to setup the intonation. The tuners feel smooth. Loving the finish especially the fretboard since there are spots that show some grain to it. It's definitely a looker.

I am not too crazy about the pickups but this will probably be the bass I experiment with. Will shield it and maybe do a series/parallel mod. Re-stringing it with some LaBella RWs after that.

I've been waiting a while to get one of these. So far I'm in love. :bassist:

BTW, I got a gig bag and an instructional disc with it. Don't know if this was part of the deal or not.
