Does Not Compute: $139 SX Mahogany 6 String with Set Neck

Just pulled the trigger on that 5 string Spector wanna be @ Rondo... I already own the Ursa 5 string and it is a wonderful bass for the ca$h... I will follow up with a review..

Funny thing with some of you... Buy an otherwise $500 - $800 bass anywhere else for only only $150 shipped @ Rondo and then bitch about a scratch in the paint or junk nut... How can you bitch about those things and then say your sending it back.. thats just ignorant imho

Here is a link to the control panel diagram / tone controls layout for those of you that may be a little confused about what knob does what =)

I agree with your thought at its root, I just don't feel as extreme as you do. I think it'd be strange for me to return a $150 bass because the frets are sharp or the finish is uneven or paint is missing, because I didn't pay for those nice qualities.

It depends on what you're willing to put up with. The Spector-like one I ordered had a few problems I was okay with but the dent on the fingerboard was a deal breaker for me. It's not something I want to try my hand at repairing, if that was even possible.

The Jazz I ordered has a nick on the finish at the base of the neck and I just discovered a shim. At this price I'm OK with that. Even if it needs some work. I just took it apart to shield the cavities and will change the pots to eliminate some of the noise (it's a Jazz anyway).

I would not say it's ignorant. If you buy something and are not happy with the product for whatever reason, why keep it?

Here's mine. Pardon the crappy cellphone pic.

I managed to scratch the hell out of the control plate while modding it for parallel/series which I'm still working on. Will probably replace the control plate later on.
