I do love that Club bass and would love to have one, but when the gig calls for a violin bass, it calls for a violin bass.Someone mentioned it earlier... think about a Hofner Club Bass. Same tone, larger body.
Also, the German Hofner 500/1 violin basses have WAY thicker, heftier necks than the B-Bass entry level made in China version. Try one out, you may like it. The price is steep for the German builds, so think used.
Rock and Roll Vintage here in Chicago has a bunch in stock at any given time.
Remember, Paul is a fairly small individual. Most people look a little oversized holding that bass, not just you.
As far as the white short sleeve shirt with tie... I give you Bun E. Carlos.
And Bun E does rule. A shame he and CT had a falling out.
