Wow! I hadn't thought to look at sire before. That looks great! Probably one of the front runners. It seems like it might be a little cheaper overall vs. a Frankenstein bass since the neck will end up costing about 600 with the finish and hardware.

There where 2 sleeper (or manybe not such a sleeper) Js at NAMM this year and this was one of them. (The other was the Schecter Diamond J Plus) Which not what your looking for with the Black block inlays and if your very traditional you might not like the 35" scale of the Schecter as well (I preferred the later though).
