Does this P look "off"?

Something seems odd about the bridge. The tuners are period correct.

Serial is consistant with an early 80s bass. I think my bridge on my old 78 had 4 holes, but I can't really see if that bridge has 3 or 4.

Yea, the bridge appears to be canted at an angle a little bit... not parallel with the bass' centerline.

Maybe it was done to get the intonation right.

It might be that the neck is sitting a little crooked in the neck pocket. I know there's usually a bit of side to side play on Fender's bolt on necks.

It has a replacement guard (basses of that time period had a one ply white guard stock) and the pickup covers are black instead of white. He mentions both of those issues in the ad and the rest looks stock so I would be inclined to say that it is what the seller says it is.

It kinda looks like the neck is photo-shopped on the body or something. Look at where the neck & body join. The seller's history seems impeccable & probably is. Must just be a poor photo.

But look at the tuning pegs on a bass. In the middle, there's a hole where you put the strings and on guitar, there isn't.
