Maybe you just picked the wrong one....For those who haven't been to Texas Roadhouse, you get to pick your own steak:

Yep, quite a while back. I could never get one worth a chit or cooked the way i want it. Tough, stringy, thin, always over cooked. I wait for Publix to run ribeye on sale and get some cut like i want, 1 3/4" to 2", then cooked properly. Well seared on the outside and cold in the middle, salt pepper and a little garlic before cooking. Heaven on a plate but with my current situation i've cut back to 4~5 times a year.My last topic went so well that I thought I'd dip into this one.
JMHO, but after having a nice steak at Texas Roadhouse yesterday I feel like the prices we're paying for steak in a restaurant are too damn high & the steak itself had the least bang for the buck.
For the price I paid I could have gotten an AYCE sushi lunch for two.
The kicker is, I could have done the job on the steak at home, LOL!
The sushi is a different story.
at least not w/o some training, which a friend actually did
Anyone else swear off restaurant steak?
or another low-value-for-money item

The one in Hoover Al is consistently decent, but never WOW.For those who haven't been to Texas Roadhouse, you get to pick your own steak:

Shouldn't that title have a capitol "D" in it?My last topic went so well that I thought I'd dip into this one.
