Done with Sweetwater

Over here scratching my head because I'm just now realizing that you can haggle prices with the sales engineers???;)

True story, bro. They also have a price-match policy. It's like a lot of other corporations' price-match policies.

I would ask your sales engineer, but if you show them proof of a lower price at an established retailer, they will match it (at least, they have every time for me).

Well, sounds like he blew it with you. You might want to let management know so it doesn’t happen to others. There are other sellers out there. Not a fan of GC/MF for reasons similar to yours. I’ve had good experiences with AMS, Chicago Music Exchange, Zzounds…and others.
Oh heck. @Joe Nerve. I didn’t realize until just now it was you who posted that. Losing you as a customer is certainly not a smart move on that guy’s part. Hope all is well.

My only gripe with Sweetwater is that their CS might be a little too good!
I don't really need that phone call from the rep, checking in to see how I'm doing... just get my purchase in the mail and I'll be fine. If I need some expert guidance on how to set up a home studio or something, I'll call!
I still prefer that over the MF/GC experience, which often feels a little dumbed-down to me.

Ask them not to call and they won’t. My rep will send a very occasional email. Not intrusive at all.

Just had a great resolution to a FedEx generated shipping issue. It's going to have been a (10) day turn around on that item, but what can ya do?

Also, Sweetwater has opened a shipping warehouse in Phoenix, AZ, too. Should speed up some business west of the Mississippi.

Love me some Sweetwater! :cigar:

:rollno:I have sworn off Sweetwater as well. All my experiences up to the one below were superb, but things like this stick with me for a while.

I ordered a product on back-order.

A month later they said it might not come for 5 months. I thanked them for letting me know but said I would wait. The deal was good and as long as they honored the price when it was available I was alright with waiting.

At six months they told me it was still not in stock and would be longer.

At 8 months they said it was still back-ordered, but should be coming in soon. At this point I vented because the product page had been up all this time saying more where on the way.

I was also unhappy because the vendor (one of the biggies) was producing standard product with this item the whole time. I felt that Sweetwater should have had a good enough relationship with this vendor to have at least been able to give a clearer update on expected availability, and even possibly apply some pressure to get some of these in for the long waiting customers. I know I am expecting too much in this area and not being realistic, especially considering the recent supply chain issues. But, it is this type of customer support issue that can bend me the wrong way.

It finally arrived after about 10 months, and I gave honest feedback about my experience (similar to what I stated above). The support specialist reached out to try and make things right, but I was done with the whole experience at that point.

So a couple of days ago I order something from Amazon from a vendor
called GearNuts only to find out when it shipped it is coming from Sweetwater :rollno::rollno:.

I told them I wanted more Smarties with my candy. Last order came with no Smarties.

I'm done.

I just received an order yesterday. I saw there was one LARGE not small item, that I may have inadvertently provided a wrong stock number by one (1) digit. I wanted another one just like my previous order. I emailed an RMA request. I was taken care of on the spot. They already have the replacement OTW.

I am absolutely done with these people UNTIL my next order...:cigar:
