Doomsday Theory

He's linking to Art Bell's Coast To Coast radio show in another thread.

If you're unfamiliar with Mr. Bell, he's a rambling psychotic moron. Good for laughs, but not much else.

+1 Art is great to listen to when you are driving all night. It's hard to fall asleep when you are laughing so hard and and asking, are these people for real? Just don't take anything from that show seriously.

He's entertaining until you realize that there are those out there that don't take him at the "what if..." level, there are those - like himself - that actually SERIOUSLY BELIEVE IT....

Well that's the thing - you get Art Bell presenting some bizarre stuff that's actually neat IMO. Improbable, bizarre, often goofy, but interesting in almost a sci-fi/conspiracy theory/dime store novel sorta way. Then of course you get the nuts that call in only adding to the whole cool "dead of night" aura of the show.
It's entertainment, nothing more. It is a little unsettling in a way though how quick to believe some folks are.

So the problem in the gulf is NOT real? just exagerated hoo haw?

Ok, nevermind then...sorry to stir the pot.

Well, there IS a problem in the Gulf, Jody. There's oil a-leaking...

There MIGHT be a gigantic methane bubble ready to fart us all into oblivion, then there might not be. There might be Godzilla himself buried under the leak, ready to pop up and destroy New Orleans with his atomic fire-breath, there might not be.. the fact is that there are a LOT of theories and a lot of things that can go right or go wrong.... to focus on one grave potential as unlikely as it is, is just fear-mongering.
I'll tell you what, if we somehow survive the mega-fart, I'll give you my 76 P bass as acknowledgment that you in fact, told us so. ;)

Jody, I grew up in the middle of where that mess is, my family, my friends, they're all dealing with this mess - there IS indeed a problem in the Gulf.

However, the fertilizer you are trying to spread is NOT a real part of the issue at this time. There is no evidence of such an issue, and the report that Art and his cronies are referring to is written on toilet paper.

I prefer that we deal with the REAL issues in the Gulf, the oil in the water. Not the IMAGINARY ones, like a giant Gaia-fart.
