I'm an on and (since the theft of my '74 Bass a few years ago) off again bassist since 1971. Bass parts in music always get my attention whether it's r&b, headbanger, jazz, or baroque basso continuo. I have played in public almost not at all--probably less than 25 hours in almost 45 years! My favorite bassists are Bruce Thomas, the late Keith Ferguson, Carrie Barton, and a Northwestern Celtic musician named Rob Barrick.
