That's great! Wasn't aware of that movement. The perfect way to combat oppressive regimes - with absurd humor/dictates! Very Da-Da and Surrealist as they noted. "The Thesis is the Anti-Regime Slogan. The Anti-thesis is the Spot and the Synthesis is the Dwarf. Quantity evolves into Quality. The more Dwarves there are, the better it is." Love it! I knew about orange as a colour related to Poland as a kid - I don't know how I knew, but I did. So it's very serendipitous that this 1985 Czech bass will be orange - and the Orange Alternative was started that same year! (and later inspired orange movements in Czechoslovakia)

Yes, very Da-Da. Great aikido-like use of the absurd and how to confront authoritarianism by avoiding actual confrontation. There could be a great movie made from it. Surrealism having real real world impact. My wife, then a university student in that same city, was part of the movement (such as it was being so loosely knit), knew Major (RIP), etc. That sense of the absurd actually seems more characteristic of the Czechs (what other country would have named Zappa Minister of Culture?) than the Poles to me so it's easy to see how it got traction there, too.
I don't know what meaning orange might have - though it makes sense that they avoided the politically loaded national colors of red and white.
It's cool that Wrocław now has small statues of dwarfs/gnomes hidden throughout the city. Some of that spirit is still alive and it's not a left/ring thing but just against authority; not long ago there was much controversy over a particular statue being removed here and during the night a giant rubber duck was mounted on the vacated plinth - there are connotations with the duck but too much to get into - which led to the great image of a rubber ducky being 'arrested' as 4 city police removed it... Had to love it.
