Double Czech - Jolana DiscoBass & Kolorbass -

Copied from a scale pic of the hs - pencil transferred and inked with an ultra fine point Sharpie -

As good as I could do all things considered - I did a wipe-on satin poly first, a coat of clear shellac and inked over that. I did a light dusting coat of shellac over the ink to seal it and it bled a tiny bit - so looks a tad fuzzy. As long as you don't look too close it fills the bill. Satin nitro over that and done. Once the tuners, strings and string restraint are in place, it will blend right in.

Could be the final coat of primer - will know once I sand tomorrow. Used most of one spray-can. Looks pretty good, like an egg shell which provides a perfect foundation for the finish.

"ASYMMETRIC tool body made of alder, maple neck with an overlay of stained beech."

and... "Scheme, mounted on black pickguard consists of two singles (in cases of humbuckers, hm..) with the separate volume controls. Great thing is that the scheme that the neck pickup originally cut all HF, while the bridge pickup - LF, ie virtually all sound constructed by mixing the two channels, low and high."

So cool! Sold by the time I saw the ad or I think I would’ve pulled the trigger, just so I could say I own a Disco bass :)

Thinking about these tuners for the DiscoBass. Pretty cool...

well suited to germany bass guitars Musima, Migma and many other vintage models.

Nice. I just ordered a set from him for my Orfeus Plovdiv - but the ones with the metal heads so as not to undercut you as that's the last set with the 'fancy' plastic buttons ;)

What's cool with this design is they can be taken apart and put back together either right or left handed. Simple/brilliant. So the same set can be configured 4 in line right or left handed or 2+2, etc.

The bass has some cheap USSR replacements on it. Otherwise original except for me adding a ground wire. Still has the DIN jack. Also similar to your Meazzi project it has a single inlayed edge binding running around the center line of the outer edge of the body (though the body was not cut in half, it's just decorative).

Yes, there are still 2 sets of those on eBay as of this morning. Same type that came on my DiscoBass that will be swapped out on the Kolorbas once it arrives. Wasn't aware they can be reversed. (like Sperzels) :thumbsup:
EBay has a new algorhythm where as if you save something it triggers (or can trigger) the seller to send an offer lower than the asking price. I was considering buying the Bulgarian tuners, put it on my watch list and was going to sleep on it but within minutes the offer came in at a lower price! Same thing happened on the mahogany blank I bought. Some items are "get it asap before it's gone" but others like this are now worth putting on my watch list and waiting to see if a lower offer bounces back.

We do! :thumbsup: I've mentioned this somewhere on tb once before, but one of my favorite biz names is one I saw on a warehouse building in KC/MO many years ago. It read; Related Products... so in theory that could be just about any and every product as all things are related in one way or another! :)

Anyway - the Basora and Marina are both too cool but the guitar with the organ-toggles hanging off the edge of the angular pg is simply fabulous. :thumbsup:

Unfortunately not a bass, but IMHO one of the coolest (looking) guitars Jolana made.... The Big Beat... you could remove the built-in amp - it also functioned as a radio!

Always can be added! Since the bass will be sparkly orange, I figured the strap could be bold but not in competition visually with the bass. White vinyl and the six pint star is a good connection. :bassist:
