I tried playing 5 string for a bit and just really couldn't get into it but I did enjoy have the extended lower range. This was the better solution for me.

I use DR DDT strings and I'm able to keep a tight sounding C#.

Nice! I generally Stick to D standard (D-G-C-F) but Occasionally I drop the D to a C.

Never tried that tuning before, sounds like a good idea though!

Hey guys I'm in Drop C tuning with my band, dabbled in B tuning, but just love Drop C and C standard.

I had a call for a pick-up gig last spring where the guitar player told me at the last minute, "By the way, I play everything in drop D. You'll have to tune down a step or transpose on the fly." With no rehearsal and barely knowing the tunes, I swallowed hard and dropped my Modulus Q6 down to A D G C F.

Damn that sounds bad ass!!!! Typically, I play in normal tuning as required by the gigs I do, but I picked up some heavier strings for the Q6 to be prepared.

I tune my 6-string ADADGC, and I'm modifying a P-bass to utilize octave-below EADG. As well, another bass is getting a BADG tuning.

One of my basses is tuned to drop C# from D# standard (C# G# C# F#).

I use:
- D standard on the 4-strings (always)
- A standard on the 5 string

Same with the guitar, except I sometimes might use Drop-C on something.
