DR dropped by to share vids

Well, I guess all of us can benefit from constructive criticism. :D

EDIT I guess we should all put our own bands up for perusal here, just so the OP has a fair chance to respond with his own views on what we're doing. Criticism works both ways, after all. I'll be brave, here's mine...

Pocket central !
BTW - I,ve still got your dad's party bookmarked for a smile

I'm still trying to determine if this is a Gig Story or Bass Humor

I think this thread has the potential for being a Lobby Thread
all over it.

Moderator Note:

The last thread was moved to the Lobby. It is located behind
the door that says 'This Way To The Egress.'

Only supporting members can wander in there. It is where the
TB Classic Thread Hall Of Fame is hidden. Access to that thread alone is worth 20 bones.

Thank you.

Wow, we sure have some great players among us here at TB! All those videos are just great except...uh, well, you know who...

This is an old, very poor quality video of the young lady I play for now. It features...my hand! Meh, her mom recorded it so what are you gonna do? At least you can see the headstock of my bass and that's something! This is one of her originals...

It's pretty mediocre, but it's all I could find. I think it was the second time I ever played with them...

Well, I missed the origin of all this. And now it seems like the OP brought on his own firing squad. That band? I can't understand why you have those three girls fronting and doing nothing but singing. The lead sings well enough. The other two? Meh, I say can one and put the other on a keyboard so you don't have to dance on those pedals. The rest of the band plays well enough. Not the best, not the worst.

Looks like everyone else is posting much better performance examples though.

hopefully I can compete. More weekend warriors:

Hey cdaniel,
Looks like you guys get plenty of gigs and you guys sound good but you look a little disconnected from the band,I see that you have a mic to bring you up with the guitarist.Might I suggest that you get inline with your guitarist on the front of the stage and get in synch with them. You have got the music down now give the people something to look at.
I believe that the stage show is 50% of the gig.

Wha Wha Whaaaat? Criticism? :D
Duly noted.
Disconnected seems to be my persona in life. The big quiet type I guess. I'm aware of, and I'm working on the whole stage presence thing. Actually all of us in the band are. It's tough to not screw up and be interesting to watch at the same time. We actually do more visually than that video montage shows. Certainly it needs to get better though.

I love watching bands that have a good time and make it look easy. Cuz it aint easy.

Bassybills band is fine example of doing it right.:bassist:

I just started playing bass about 6 years ago and my stage presence issue became very apparent when I broke out of the garage and started gigging regularly,I also default to standing in the corner of the stage and hanging out with the drummer so it has been a task to get out front and out on the dance floor but it has made it so much more fun.
Most of the bands that I see have really good musicians (better than I will ever be) but the majority of the audienece does'nt notice the technical side as long as the band is not sucking, they just want to get up and shake there butts or watch the "SHOW".
I have just started doing back up vocals when I can and they will let me (thank god for pitch correction).
In both of my bands we have the music thing down pretty good, now its the stage show that we are working on to move us up the ranks.

Dudes (and Dudettes),

That's what I'm talkin bout! Cool watching yall play after only knowing you from smart alec comments.;)

I'm game...However I must say we're so slack we never remember to bring video cameras so this is all on somebody's digital camera.

This one is good because my wife (the blond) is dancing with a tall brunette with great legs. All kinds of things were running through my mind:

Since we are posting vids now, here is a bar band I was working with that had 3 girl singers in it similar to the OP's band(no cheat notes). Didnt last long though, 6 months, no one got along! LOL!

I remember a while back they were advertising for a bass player. When I checked out their videos, I noticed that one of the guitar players didn't have (m)any teeth. It didn't look promising. :D
