DR strings or anything else??

I mostly play jazz and funk-soul
Did anyone try DR strings?
I like warm sound.Kind of double bass.but I am into thumb and slap as well.
does they produce for 6strings bass?
Do you suggest other kind of strings??what do you use.

i'm playing now DR black beauties they have that warm tone round tone while finger picked and the sound the way i want when slapped.

DR is all I've ever used on my Elrick---it came from Rob's with Low Riders that fealt so perfect that I've never deviated...highly recommended

I used to use DRs years ago. Liked them a lot, really. Great sound, and I was very into Marcus Miler at the time, so there it was. The only problem I had with them was durability. They didn't seem to last long before breaking. Did anyone else have that problem back when they first came out?

I've heard DR sunbeams, DR black beauties and DR stainless low-rider.
I am really impressed with the black beauties.I mean there is not that f..... fret noise at all.Plus they have a very warm sound.
But I dont like their slap sound so much.
dr sunbeams have a better slap tone in my opinion.
This is what happen with a fender jazz bass standard MIA.
Now...I am getting a Yamaha TRB6II.an active bass(do you know it?)
Body- Ash
Neck- Maple Bolt-on
Fretboard -Rosewood
I think it will sound pretty bright with that kind of wood.
I mean...if I get those black beauties strings,thumb and and slap should sound much more better compared to the JB.
then the bass is active,that means she has a preamp...
What do you think about that?
Will I get a good Finger and Thum-slap tone with DR blackbeauties?

+1000 Nickel lo riders are awesome. Also Fat Beams for steel fans.

Been using DR's for years. Always bounced back and forth between Lo-riders and high beams. Last time I bought the Marcus Miller fat beams (only 5 string set they had it stock),
they sound awesome. I thought the slower winding speed stuff was a bunch of marketing magic. I was greatly mistaken. I'm finger picker 99% of the time.

Like the box says, "Lo-Riders love 2 funk". I think they would be a great fit for you.

I've used both stainless steel and nickel Lo Riders on two different Stingrays and love them. I only put on my first set of nickels about two weeks ago but so far I think I like them a little more than the stainless steels. For what it's worth, I'm not really a funk player, but I *do* like these strings for the combination of sound, feel/tension (kind of stiff), and really long durability.

Looks like they DO sell 6-string sets
