Have my 1st set on Sunbeams on my Sire V5R for 2 days now and I really love them.
Wanted to try some roundcores but roundwound. They are bright yet warm enough, with a solid bottom to get that piano-like tone I love on my JB. They are not as low-tension as I had expected after reading some reviews here, but they ar certainly not stiff.
I have noticed that their surface looks not perfectly even agains the light, unlike all other different strings I have seen until now. Tried to capture it in a snapshot in dim conditions... you may see what I mean in the out of focus area at the bottom right corner.
Bothers me not the least but makes me curious: has this something to do with DR's pronounced "handmade" claim? Almost all string manufacturers claim that their stings are proudly handmade in /*whatever location*/, but maybe there are different techiques involved. What do you think?
