More top and bottom than something like a TI Jazz round, so for that mid-focussed fretless sound the TI are a good alternative but the Sunbeams have a fuller sound across the frequency spectrum. The richness is pretty nice
I like the Sunbeams. But I just recently put a set of Pure blues on a Jazz and a Ripper. And I really like the PBlues on both. A lot. Which is interesting because they work equally well with both single-coil and hum-pups to my ears.
Can't go wrong with DRs IMO. They make a fine string for bass or guitar.
I had Sunbeams on my J and P before I went to flats. I definitely liked them, but just wanted to try something different. I kept the old strings in case I go back. Definitely worth a try. Good luck!
