DR Tension

The DR's I've tried with the lower tension are the Sunbeams.

Don't know how they compare the the Red Devils tough...

I have a jazz bass that just LOVES the Sunbeams...but I also use Fat Beams and SS Low Riders on other basses.

I agree, Sunbeams and a Jazz just work great.

All the rest (Sunbeams, Hi Beams, Fat Beams, the coated strings) are ALL pretty low tension due to the round core.

Since this thread and I zombied about the same time I'll just add one thing:

Understand the difference between tension and stiffness. So many factors of string construction and bass setup are mistakenly applied to string tension alone.

Sunbeams are more flexible than same-sized hex cores, so they feel like they are strung more loosely to a given pitch even though they are not in most circumstances.
