Dream Cabinet Discussion

I already had my dream cabinet...sold it when I quit playing... fEARful 15/6

Now that I'm back to playing again I'm playing through one (or two) Rumble 100's (V3) combos. 22 lbs. each, 100 watts into a single 112 (or 200 watts into a 212 when chained together). So if I were to have a new "dream" cab, it would be a fEARful 12/6 (or some iteration of the Greenboy designed 12 cabs).

My “Dream Cabinet” absolutely cannot be had for only $1-2k

… I did just order a pair of RevSound RS115 cabs, which I fully expect to meet all my needs, and were less than $2k for the pair. But those are practical, functional, working musician’s cabinets, not the stuff of dreams.

Depends entirely on how I would use said cab(s). Their are no one-size-fits-all cabs I have found

I’m not into moving heavy cabs but my personal favorite is the Greenboy fEARless F212.
Since that’s more than I choose to carry I use a Greenboy fEARless F112 stacked on an experimental F112 sub only cab.
The F212 is pictured first followed by my stack.

Simply the best sounding cab I have ever played.
But if I needed 800w+, I'd get the double: Super Twin - 1200w, 40 lbs

I'm sure the Genzler and the AG are great too, can you try them?
What amp do you have?
What music genre do you play, what tone are you after?
Do you only want opinions about the Genzler and the Aguilar 410, or are you open to other cabs?

Hey -- I checked out your band but the latest show on YT was on 7/24 and it appears you are using an Ampeg combo. It sounds fine. Do you have a show where you have the Barefaced. Thks

EDIT: Never mind there is an Instagram video but not as great recording as the one with the Ampeg

I'm now thinking between the Mesa Boogie 4x10, Genzler Bass Array 410, Barefaced FourTen, and the Barefaced Big Twin.
Cause I can get by for now with my DG gear.
Just not sure which cab, and then which head to compliment them with. Maybe the mesa wd800, or the genzler magellen.

The Ampeg was backlined, but on this page, #2, #3, #4 #5 are with my Super Compact, and #8 in outdoor with my One 10.

Just my personal point of view, but the Big Twin seems overly bulky and the low end can be overwhelming - thus, I'd much prefer the Super Twin or Super Twin T.
If I never had to move the Big Twin (or had my own roadies) and owned a good High Pass Filter (or amp with one built in), I think it would be awesome!

I would be calling Don Oatman (Low Down Sound - LDS) a call and see what we would cook up.

Cool -- are those inside recordings from the board or a room mic? The open air recording is pretty good even with all the stone and brick, well maybe that's what made it sound good with the foliage. The Ampeg was not shabby -- of course any bigger and it would have suffered. Hopefully the OP can use your video's as a reference for that brand.

I don't think anybody can use any of these videos as a reference, we're a very amateur band with no sound engineer, and the audio quality is poor, generally taken from the mic of the camera. The only thing these video demonstrate IMHO is that a drummer who can control his volume greatly helps.
