Dressing for the stage

Hats. Don't. Wear. Any. None. Zero. Nada. Hat-wearing bass player has almost become a cliche'...or worse. Just don't. If you have hair, do something with it. If your head is slick, polish it and keep on rockin. No hats. If you only take one piece of my advice, take this one. Whatever hat you think is cool just isn't.
I feel attacked :roflmao: :roflmao: I prefer fixin' my hair but some muggy nights I cheat

I wear a gray t shirt under an open black dress shirt, jeans, and a good pair of athletic walking shoes (so I have good foot padding and support). Also, I wear a bandana wrapped around my forehead to catch the sweat and top that with a black or gray Stetson Open Road which keeps the lights or sun out of my eyes.
works for me.

Will these do? I wasn't 100% happy with my appearance now that I see a picture. I'm playing the beginning of Sweet Emotion here.

Oh yeah. I love some good ring boots. Just ditch the hat and get a cool shirt and you're all set.

Love that Aerodyne, by the way.

It does depend on the band and the overall vibe.

Frankly, make a habit of hanging around thrift shops. You can often get some off-the-beaten-path stuff affordably.

It's worth investing a bit of change in one or two showpiece items - a sharp pair of shoes, for instance.

Think about accessorizing, too. Sometimes the flair comes from a bit of jewelry or a tie or something of that kind.

A few of mine -
