Then don’t call it ‘1968’ if you’re gonna slap a decal from another era.

Also to truly be a 1968, it shouldn't be on a website and should cost $250.

The tone on the 60s headstock logo had way more dynamic mids and better treble extension above 3k, that's the bigger miss for Fender. I imagine all these basses will need vintage NOS pickguard screws to offset the tone difference from the 70s logo.

Either way, these basses will sound like absolute trash and any lay person at your gigs will likely unfollow your band on Facebook.

The drummer might even fire you...

You’re point is spot on, however for $4,500 I’d expect a 1968 re-issued jazz bass by the vaunted Fender Custom shop to at least have the correct logo.

LOL, don't expect anyone to "get" your post. I made a similar post about Fender putting the decal in the wrong place on the Vintera 50s reissues (not the same place as it actually was in the 50s) and it about 10 pages of extremely dense comments ensued, where no one could understand what I meant or why I cared. The same type of comments are already starting here...lack of common sense/logic. For instance, even though you clearly specified it was a line of instruments that would be produced in larger numbers, a least 5 people referred to it as a one off / custom order??? You can expect about 25 men over 65 to attack you at this point.

For $4500, it wouldn’t be a Fender and I wouldn’t have noticed that decal on that headstock.

Well..I completely agree with you...and think they have spoilt a great looking bass with a goofy looking too small logo.
