Dubious failure by Fender Custom Shop!

And what’s funny is these people have such a strong opinion on what other people should, and shouldn’t think, an opinion that is actually much stronger and more intense than caring about the decal.

A lot of people are just old school/simpletons. There’s not much you can do about it.
Yeah, it's a lot of, "Be a cork-sniffer over here but not over here." So dumb, so lame.

The best thing is — note how literally each and every of the chest-thumping hypocritical bullies and their ilk ran back to cover under whichever rocks they crawled out from beneath once the truth was exposed!:thumbsup::bassist:

There's a new thread where a guy received a $6500 custom bass after a 3 year wait with a huge chip out of the side. They are busy telling him to quit whining and "play the snot out of it."

So — I did email the store, and here’s what they had to say regarding the “1968 Relic”:

“Thanks for checking in. It looks like FCS made a mistake. The spec sheet calls for a 66 logo, but that's not what is on the headstock. We should be able to get an updated Floor Traveller that shows the late 70's logo.

Reach out with any questions. “

so the decal was not a custom or special order. The “75” decal was in fact, a mistake by Fender Custom Shop.
Thanks for going the extra kilometer.

And those very same people will complain when there’s a “swirl” in the finish and a gap in the neck pocket of their new Harley Benton.

Ummm no. I’ve owned custom shops in the past and have seen “RELiC” engraved in the body.

you can find pictures of other FCS bodies with the “RELIC” stamp at the pickup cavities by searching Google.
You will only find "RELIC" engraved on Custom Shop Team Built only. Master Built does not have "RELIC" engraved. Typically in the pickup cavity on a Master Built it will have the builders initials stamped.

You’re totally right, Echo. The “1968 Journeyman” bass that’s discussed in this thread is in fact team built, and therefore would have “RELIC” stamped in one of the pickup cavities.

I read your entire thread about waterslide spacing from a few weeks back. The hostility was palpable! It's like it's not enough for the others to simply not care about something you do, there's this impulse to punish and ostracize. Not cool.

Well, I couldn’t care less about the personal nature of the comments, it was more just a frustration about the fact that nobody even understood what I was saying. They just couldn’t grasp the point, much like in this thread.

There’s a growing number of people whom would rather spike the football with their NBD’s, argue about tort and carrots, and belittle and bully others with an opinion they don’t share, or rather understand.
