You’re right, it’s marketed as a “Time Machine / Journeyman” piece. Here’s Fender’s explanation of “Journeyman”:

Used but not abused — so how did the wrong decal get in there? Ha ha

It's a VERY simple point. It says 68 and the logo is not correct for 68. If you don't care, then get out of the thread. At what point do any details matter to you people? Is there no importance on getting something right for $5,000? Unbelievable.

God forbid they change the radius, though!

Also time machine / journeyman refers to the relic job, not the specificity of the reissued year.

Then by that logic, why doesn’t Fender get the decals of ALL their models period-incorrect like they have with the 1968 Journeyman jazzes?

That said, The word “RELIC” is stamped/ENGRAVED under pickguard on all custom shop stuff.

Your last statement is incorrect. Custom Shop Master Built product is not stamped or engraved Relic on the necks or bodies.

Ummm no. I’ve owned custom shops in the past and have seen “RELiC” engraved in the body.

you can find pictures of other FCS bodies with the “RELIC” stamp at the pickup cavities by searching Google.
