I agree with JT that GN'R were not the most technically proficient band in the world. However, I did see them twice in 1992 on the Illusion Tour.
The first time, in January in Houston TX, They went on three hours late, and then played for three hours until 2am. Absolutly killer show - Soundgardern opened.

Saw them again that summer on the stadium tour with Metallica and Faith No More. Another killer show.

And I still think the two Illusion albums have some spots that are amazing.

I remember reading an interview with Axl years ago when the albums came out. He said that he and the engineer scored some mushrooms, so they went in the studio one night, took the shrooms, and then spent until the next morning being high and messing around with the studio gear. "My World" was the result of that night.

I don't know if that is sad or funny.
