But for what it's worth, I'm dreaming up a new medium scale (around 31.5-32") that will accept LOOOOONG scale strings. I have learned my lesson the hard way lol. At least my bass looks cool though.

For me, that was an absolute MUST HAVE FEATURE for a medium scale bass, I built two of them that way because it opens up "the universe of string possibilities" in a big way! (I still have one here, although I have recently moved on to playing short scales exclusivley). Future plans include a short-scale bass designed to accept long scale strings! ( I think an Explorer-style instrument would be very amenable to that...)

Ah yes, I saw that Famous P on Reverb recently...very stunning! A short scale explorer would be super rad!!
