The 125b Wizard fuzz is incredible. I’ve made this claim before, but I think it’s the best bass fuzz I’ve tried yet. That depth knob.

Are there new big box DA120s in the works? I think I'm interested in trying one with my '72 Hiwatt 200 Slave that is on its way to me.
Yes probably little later in the summer.

Any rough estimate when the latest batch of 125b wizard fuzzes will start shipping? I'm out of town for a week or so.
Im wrapping up the BODs this week, shipping at latest early next week. Then I am moving onto the remaining WFs. So it should be 2-3 weeks before they are all out from today.
I'm little confused about the versions of DA120s. So the current version has mids boost instead of gain boost? And the older versions had no mids control, but a boost that boosted total gain?
I've never schooled myself in the DA120. Honestly I kind of overlooked it but now am very interested in getting one to put in front of a tube slave head. Which version would work best for that?
The only question you wanna ask is, do I need blend or do I want a mid boost?
Im curious to see a pic of the one with mid boost; can't seem to recall it. I loved the bigger version which didn't have mids, so I'm curious
the new versions have a mid boost but its the same label as the gain boost ("Boost")

I was just sitting around having a nice relaxing Friday day off while tending to a 12 hour smoking of a pork shoulder, when I realized I hadn't checked the mail today. BAM! with zero warning there was a BOD just sitting on my doorstep. Review to follow, but aesthetically it is sublimely fantastic looking. I'm usually a sucker for all the fanciest and most multi-colored weirdness when lit comes to pedal design, but this is a thing of pure beauty. I thought I would pine away about not having purple sparkle, but holy @%#! this thing lookis cool. Like I said, review to follow. right now I musts attend to some pork!
The pork is still smokin' and so are my fingers and ears. Within the first minute of playing, the BOD dethroned my "always on" overdrive pedal. It's quite difficult to explain, but it combines the bests aspects of my two previous "always on" pedals and improves upon them. First of all, the grit is really an integral part of the sound rather than something layered on top of or added to it. The tone controls are beautifully subtle, and might not appeal to those seeking extremes.
There are so many pedals that try to be all things to everyone, where excessive versatility is a selling point. I think the BOD really focuses in on what it's made for: Glorious, usable, overdrive that just makes you want to play. I'm not saying it isn't highly versatile, I'm just saying this isn't trying to pass off some extreme fuzz tones or grab your attention with "gee whiz it slices and dices as well" features. I've only just started, but I'm using just a smidge of clean through the blend, and the drive nearly dimed with the clip switch in the middle setting. (I forget which diodes are in which setting, I'll have to go back through this thread) I could use thi sound for almost any genre, even ones that don't require much distortion (it's all about how it sits in the mix)
the word "tubey" has lost all meaning when it comes to defining a sound, and I wouldn't try to claim that this is in some way more "tubey" than other solid state pedals. However, it is based upon a TS circuit which was supposed to try and emulate a tube-like sound. Just accept Warm, touch sensitive, and just the right amount of stubble. (I am claiming that term for something that fills the void between "hair" and "grit")
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! I just happened to feed some other distortion into it. Behold, there was greatness to be had. Many dislike RAT style distortion on bass, but my Cat King into the BOD was great. It opened up new levels of goodness. Then I just happened to try my Heliotropic. Jaws were on the floor. which is odd because there were smiles at the same time. I've always like the extremes of the Heliotropic, but it never seemed to fit in musically with anything I did. That just changed.

Yes. And then again yes. And oh yes.

Please keep in mind that tastes and equipment are drastically different. I've had many gushed over botique pedals that just didn't do it for me. I guarantee you that someone else will give it a "Meh, it's good but not as good as my Fuzzlordiangodlicious Rexterious Goneckdazoink handmade underwater drive."
