I talked about it with someone who helped pitching ideas to name it. It seems it was inspired by Bolt Thrower, but changed to Volt because of the higher than usual voltagesSo is the song Volt Thrower by Conan Inspired by the pedal Volt Thrower? or is it a common fun twist of the all time great Bolt Thrower.
Do you still have / play the DEATH ? I was so curious about this one I asked Ryan from RCO to recreate one for me, with a few twists (a clean blend with LPF, and maybe the possility to engage the boost and octave at the same time)
Very cool indeed! Glad to hear GENOME is working out well for you!I do enjoy the big box Wizard Fuzz. That Hilbish Sol preamp still dwarfs it though. I’m running a hybrid rig with amp and cab sims in the DAW (Genome from Two Notes).

My gut says it's the footswitch - I hope it's something that simple as I have a Pharaoh Supreme with a similar issue. About 25% of the time, when I press to engage it, the signal is very weak, like it's barely making a connection. I either have to stomp it off and then on again, or sometimes I can just barely depress the footswitch and it will make contact and act fine again until I turn it off.Hey guys! Hoping someone here can lead me in the right direction.
So I’ve got a Dunwich Volt Thrower (in 125b enclosure) and it started to act up a week ago or so.
I’d say 30% - 40% of the time, when I disengage the pedal, the LED will cut out, but no signal is bypassed at all - almost like a mute switch. When this happens, I must press the footswitch again which engages the pedal, then press once more to actually disengage the pedal totally.
I’m looking for a solution, or for a trustworthy builder to inspect and repair it. I’ve reached out Magic Pedals, but have not heard back, so wanted to try this group next.
Added some gut shots for your evaluation. I’m no sonic wizard so I can’t really assess it myself.
Appreciate your time and any potential help!
Only thing is they don’t explain each toggle position specifically, so I can’t be certain what position does what. But yeah, it’s an awesome sounding overdrive. Very aggressive yet warm and reactive to your playing. Sounds great paired with a Sansamp BDDI too. Between the Olde Dirty Bass and Damnation Audio Bass Grinder, I really have my dirt needs covered. From the Magic website : There are 2 top mounted toggle switches which can control the clipping diode arrangement (LED/MOSFET) and the input low shelf (controls the low end RC cutoff of the first gain stage). The input low shelf helps to tailor the amount of low end reduction early in the circuit.

**REV 2 - Op amp has been swapped from OPA2134 (REV 1) to a TL072. More bite/attack and more gain **
Worth checking your serial number to know wich one you have. I bought and "old" unit like 2 months ago, more out of curiosity as I use a VT for my main tone, but it is so good at any settings I can't stop playing it. Now I'd be curious to try out that other Op amp.
Hey all. Just got an Olde Dirty Bass. Sounds pretty rad so far. Would someone be able to explain to me what each toggle position does? There are three left to right positions for both toggles.
