Well, my first band practice with the Neo was last night, and I just had to leave a quick review.
"Ever since my injury in 2008, I've bought a million gimmicks (and six surgeries!!) trying to ease the pain in my back. Even debated giving up music altogether, that's how bad it hurts to play bass sometimes.
This Duostrap from Gruv Gear and Damian Erskine isn't a gimmick. It actually works! I just played through a normal band practice without pain for the first time in six years. Seriously.
It took a few minutes to get it set just right, but after that the bass stayed put and only moved when I moved it!! Equal weight on both shoulders meant zero neck dive, and it felt like my bass (a 9.5 pound ash P-bass) was about 4 pounds lighter.
Now I need one for my backup bass!!
Thanks for coming up with the Duostrap, Damian. And thanks to Gruv Gear for making it available for anyone."
I should probably add that the neoprene doesn't breathe, so it does get hot under the strap, but the decreased pain while playing makes it all worth it!! I don't mind sweating.
