I've always been interested in building an ERB. Some, perhaps many of you will think this is exessive, but I'm going to build a 10 single-string bass, and I think it would be cool to share progress pics w/ you guys along the way.
Here's what I've decided upon so far:
9 piece set neck, Brazilian redwood and walnut
Cocobolo fretboard, headstock facing, and facing of the middle of the body, so it looks continuous.
27 stainless frets, fanned, enough so that they can all be wound strings (still working out) and starting with a low B string at 33"
I'm still deciding on some body woods and electronics, but I want to finish this bass in ONE MONTH, except maybe the electronics, depending. I will post pics soon, as I make progress!
