They cant source the drivers anymore....well, they can but the OEM wants them to buy like 10'000 units (or some ridiculous amount like that). Since EA cant afford to buy "x" amount of bulk speakers, they have no source on them. Which means, a new design. Also, it means replacement drivers for the NL210 are a thing of the past....re-coning from here on out. As of lately, they don't have a source on a re-coning sight. If you have a bad NL210 driver, your SOL until they can find a service center that will re-cone their drivers to their spec. It sucks....makes me want to sell my NL210's. This is a horrible time for EA to have speaker supply issues given the timing of the redesigned line of amplifiers. I know it's not EA's fault...but it still looks bad on their end. My info came from John @ EA.
PS....FWIW, I heard the NL210 was discontinued. Maybe they are working on a new design....I dunno??? However, at this point the NL210 as we know it is a thing of the past. Whether or not they market their new 210 as a NL is yet to be seen....that is if they are actually redesigning a new 210. Since the "new" NL410 uses the same speakers as the NL210, I am assuming the NL410 is out as well.
