EA Euphonic Audio Club (NEW WEBSITE)

Just sent a note to EA inquiring about their gear. All of it is still made in the USA which is a big + for me. Anyway, they say the new 550's will do 2 ohms so running (2) Wizzy's is no prob. Any TB'ers run this set up? I have a Markbass CMD121p, the 1 x 12" combo so I am also wandering how the 550 + (1) Wizzy might compare. Thanks in advance!

Tim C.

I am running the new Micro 550 with a Wizzy 10 and/or a Wizzy 12. In my opinion it is light and sounds great. I think the Micro EQ is lacking a bit so I use a Boss PQ3-B parametric EQ in order to get the same sound I am accustomed to hearing from my iAmp 500 (with it's expanded EQ capability) through the NL-210 and CLX-112. Hope this helps a little. Not having a MB I cannot give you an A/B comparison. If you have a specific question I can give you my best shot answer.

Here's the EA rig I had-

iAmp 350 and a CXL210, KILLER tone. I wish i still had it...the funny thing is I got the cab in hopes of using it as a nice DB amp. Well, it's being used as a DB amp just not by me! Also, the cab is supposed to be around 80lbs thought it really isn't too difficult to lug around...even for me!

I just finished the last night of a three nighter theater/church type gig and man did the micro and NL210 setup deliver once again. Played my Tobias Basic 5 for two nights and my Yamaha TRB JP for the other. That little package just fits in the mix like a glove with two guitars, drums, keys etc. The soundguy was impressed with th DI (he was little skeptical at first sight) and said he got a great, clean send from the amp. It was a fun few nights and I love being torn down and gone in no time.

The NL210 is being replaced with an updated design....anyone have any details about this?

Curious...where did you get this info??

They cant source the drivers anymore....well, they can but the OEM wants them to buy like 10'000 units (or some ridiculous amount like that). Since EA cant afford to buy "x" amount of bulk speakers, they have no source on them. Which means, a new design. Also, it means replacement drivers for the NL210 are a thing of the past....re-coning from here on out. As of lately, they don't have a source on a re-coning sight. If you have a bad NL210 driver, your SOL until they can find a service center that will re-cone their drivers to their spec. It sucks....makes me want to sell my NL210's. This is a horrible time for EA to have speaker supply issues given the timing of the redesigned line of amplifiers. I know it's not EA's fault...but it still looks bad on their end. My info came from John @ EA.

PS....FWIW, I heard the NL210 was discontinued. Maybe they are working on a new design....I dunno??? However, at this point the NL210 as we know it is a thing of the past. Whether or not they market their new 210 as a NL is yet to be seen....that is if they are actually redesigning a new 210. Since the "new" NL410 uses the same speakers as the NL210, I am assuming the NL410 is out as well.

Oh man, that's a lousy situation all around, including the driving reason for a redesign.

Hey guys I am considering scaling down my electric bass rig, right now I have 2 NL210s and an IAMP Pro, for DB I have a doubler and two VL208s.

After playing the super light Markbass CMD 121P and extension, I am thinking I may be able to get rid of the Pro and pair the Doubler with a few light weight (under 30lb) 1x12 cabs. Also elimating the NL210s.

How do you guys like the standard wizzy 12s paired with the doubler for electric? Any other brands that you would point to? If I do this I'd also consider compact size as well as weight.

About a week ago, we were checking out some gear combos.
Among other combos, we tried the Wizzy with an EA Micro
amp. Using a Fender and an MTD, this match up didn't sound
very pleasing. The iamp 500 was marginally better. The Shuttle
9.0 sound great (really great) with the Wizzy.
I don't know how close these heads are to your Doubler or
iamp pro in regard to eq points.

I've been trying to figure out if I want to get an NY121 for my
CMP121 combo, or an NL210. Whats the difference?
