I have a Euphonic Audio iAMP and the inside looks very similar to the Ashdown insides, at least the power amp section ..... it is made in the UK! haha anyone know any history on the first EA iAMP , model iAMP TM ? Great sounding amp by the way

EA iAMP (white face) Same as Ashdown evo?

For a while in the late 90's very early 2000's Ashdown was providing some essential components for the EA amps.
I thought it looked similar and Im sure a lot of companies probably share components and other stuff ....
So Trace, Ashdown and Euphonic Audio shared parts long ago?

My original model iAmp (sometimes referred to as the "UK version") has a power board that says Ashdown ABM500. As I understand it, Ashdown made 100 units under contract to EA. The rest of the design is pretty similar to the US made iAmp 600 which followed, but the parts, build and workmanship say "Ashdown" all over. The preamp stage is different enough that I can't say it sounds like an ABM500, but it could probably cop those tones with enough tweaking.
In 1995 Ashdown built 100 EA iAmp500/UK (the correct model designation) heads in England, which featured EA's proprietary "front end" and Ashdown's ABM-500II power section. They were offered in carpeted headcases or with bolt on rackears and in a 1X10 or 2X8 VL Series cabs (VERY rare and had no affiliation with Ashdown). I personally have spoken with Mark Gooday, the owner of Ashdown, and since the engineering costs exceeded Ashdowns initial profitability of only 100 units, he stated that Ashdown was very disappointed that the partnership did not continue. From personal experience, I own 5 of the 100 including #002 & #003, they are pretty much bullet proof and IMHO sound warmer than the current EA amps (which I agree are still GREAT). To me there is no greater rig than an iAmp500/UK w/2 VL-208 cabs, SIMPLY AWE INSPIRING TONE!
