Ear Plugs

I had a set of custom molds made several years ago, and I've never been able to get good results from them. I primarily play in loud rock and roll situations, and even with using the 25db inserts, my left ear (the one facing the drum kit, of course) still rings at the end of the night. They're also almost impossible to remove at the end of the night. Once the "seal" is formed, it takes me awhile to get them out of my ear. I've since gone back to cheap foam plugs.

Anyone else had this experience with custom molds, or am I unique?

I have westones and love them but the filter inserts keep coming apart where the two pieces are glued together. They are expensive to replace.
