Early Rush Song(s)

Different Strings
I thought I was the only person on the planet that liked that song :).

I say learn this one. It's a little challenging for someone who might wrestle with the "typical" Rush stuff, but it's fairly basic and it's a good bass exercise. Something that to me always seemed like "required reading" so to speak.

Different Strings is awesome, so you are definitely not the only person on the planet that likes that song :)

And yes, What You're Doing is a great tune, not too difficult, with just enough challenge for a beginner to work at it.

I beg to differ, good sir! You don't get to keep all the good stuff to yourself! ;)
Ok... Here's an embarrassing yet factual admission, regarding the song Different Strings. When I was a kid, I owned a van that I (and everyone else in the neighborhood) used to hang out and party in. I had a cheap cassette deck in there with cheap house speakers... (Get to the point Joe)...

I was somewhat popular with the ladies in my late teens/early twenties - and I used to use that song as part of a ritual to get me some :). I'd talk some drunken stoner crap, and then start getting into this, "All there really is... The 2 of us...." And it worked for me. And I loved Rush for that!

OK. It was more likely the fact that we were always just so wasted....

I still like to give Rush credit for those memories. And 3 songs away from that on that mixed tape was Yes's "And You and I."
